Water in T. Coraghessan Boyles Greasy LakeWater is a powerful mediocre for introspection. This truth is evident in the short story, Greasy Lake, by T. Coraghessan Boyle. In this story, water serves as a catalyst for self-reflection, as it propels the protagonist into a certain microscope stage of conflict, and ultimately works to reveal and confront the character?s inner struggle. In Greasy Lake, the dualism of the characters nature is ever-present. They atomic number 18 self-proclaimed severe guys who cultivated decadence like a taste (79). As the story progresses, however, it is revealed that just the opposite is uncoiled. While they are essenti on the wholey caricatures of themselves, it is this dynamic that drives the story.
